Communication and meetings

Communication at work is so important. There are occasions when you either have to speak up at meetings or deliver a presentation. Experience has taught me that it is really enjoyable and fun to speak up at meetings and put your point of view across. The most important person at a meeting is the chair or the manager running the meeting. All too often this person takes over and does not allow you the opportunity to speak or if you do then you are ignored and not listened to. This has the effect of discouraging you to speak up in future meetings and then it looks like you are not interested or bored. So it is important the manager/chair gives everyone an opportunity to speak but more importantly shows a genuine interest. It is then very important you speak up. Being ignored and put down at meetings can have a negative effect how you are in your work, so try to be strong and speak up.
